If you’ve seen any photos of valley of fire state park, it’s probably been of the fire wave.

The fire canyon lookout gives hikers a real taste of the valley of fire, with little risk and all reward. From the visitor center, travel south to valley of fire highway and turn right heading towards the park’s west entrance.

It is only about 100 feet long but it is an added bonus to the hike that children and adults. This hike is only about a half mile roundtrip, but the slot canyon is nice. The trail can be found between fire canyon road and the fire wave trailhead along mouse’s tank road.

Pastel canyon or pink canyon is part of wash no. Surprisingly, pastel canyon hike is not an official trail. This unique rock structure is a “wave” of interchanging beiges and creams.

This place seems almost unreal as you walk between the walls of the breathtaking geological display of the pastel pink sandstone canyon.
